2008年5月2日，广东大鹏液化天然气有限公司在其秤头角接收站迎来了第一艘由中国制造的液化天然气（LNG）运输船“大鹏昊”。至此，“大鹏昊”圆满完成了它在澳大利亚-中国之间2,700英里的LNG运输航线上的首航任务。
“大鹏昊”此次以满负荷装载量运送65,000吨液化天然气顺利返航，标志着广东大鹏液化天然气项目自2006年5月接收首船LNG以来第74船LNG的安全抵达。

“大鹏昊”目前由中国液化天然气船务(国际)有限公司(CLSICO)进行运营管理。这是一个由英国BP船务(BP Shipping)与中国液化天然气运输有限公司(CLNG)合资组建的一个国际化团队，它将在未来的25年租用期内，确保“大鹏昊”以国际最高标准进行营运。

广东大鹏液化天然气有限公司是一家中外合资企业，中海石油天然气及发电有限责任公司为最大股东占33％股份，BP集团下属的全资子公司占30％的股份。其他股东为深圳市燃气集团有限公司、广东省粤电集团有限公司、广州市煤气公司、深圳市能源集团有限公司、东莞市燃料工业总公司、佛山市燃气集团、香港电灯（天然气）有限公司和港华投资有限公司。
总投资36亿美元的广东LNG项目工程共由十四个独立的项目组成，包括广东大鹏液化天然气公司负责建设的接收站与管线项目、四个新建电厂，深圳、东莞、广州、佛山及香港五个城市网管，三艘LNG运输船和一个油改气项目。
广东大鹏液化天然气有限公司作为LNG的买方和与澳大利亚西北大陆架合营项目签署了长达25年的液化天然气供应合同。稳产期合同的年供应量为三百八十五万吨液化天然气。
Guangdong Dapeng LNG Receives Dapeng Sun at Terminal
Guangdong Dapeng LNG Company (GDLNG) welcomed the Dapeng Sun, China’s first domestically built liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier to its Dapeng Bay Terminal on May 2, 2008. The Dapeng Sun completed its maiden voyage on the 2700 mile Australia to China route.
The fully loaded 65,000 metric ton carrier made its debut marking the successful delivery of the 74th cargo for the Guangdong Dapeng LNG project that went into operation in May, 2006.

This marks the beginning of China’s LNG carrier fleet “, says Thomas King, President of Guangdong Dapeng LNG Company. “With this vessel, GDLNG furthers its position as a pioneer in the LNG industry in China. China’s LNG industry is and will be a part of China’s clean energy future.”
Managed by the China LNG Ship Management Company (CLSICO), a joint venture between COSCO/CMG and BP Shipping, the Dapeng Sun will be operated at the highest international standards during the 25-year time-charter.

These include 5 new build power plants, 5 local residential and commercial distribution networks in Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Foshan and Hong Kong, 3 LNG ships, 1 oil to gas power plant conversion and Guangdong Dapeng LNG Company’s terminal and trunkline projects.
Guangdong Dapeng LNG Company Ltd., as the buyer of LNG, has signed a 25-year, 3.7 million tons per annum, LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Australia Northwest Shelf Venture.
