Background
Energy is a necessity for survival and development in society. Over
consumption of fossil resources leads to oil shortage and global warming
that brings many problems for sustainable development of human beings.
Therefore, seeking substitutes for fossil energy is becoming the focus
all over the world. Energy from biomass has the features of clean
and renewability. It is playing an important role not only in satisfying
energy needs in the future society, especially in transportation fuels,
but also in promoting sustainable development in chemistry industry.
So biomass energy must bring the world into fantastically increasing
economic times of biology near the future.
To expand biomass energy has become a part of developing strategy
of Chinese government. In addition, specific aims and R&D plans
have been made and a series of renewable energy laws have been enforced
to promote the healthy development of bioenergy industry. In the past
few years, China has made rapid progress in biogas, biofuels, biodiesel,
biomass power and biomass particle fuels etc., which makes Chinese
biomass energy industry in shape. In such a background, China needs
strengthen international cooperation severely so as to promote the
improvement of biomass energy technologies with other countries around
the world.
Purposes
International Conference on Biomass Energy Technologies(ICBT2008)
will invite famous experts and scholars, government officers, industrialists
and professionals of investment institutions home and abroad, who
will discuss and exchange their ideas on hot spots in novel technologies
and its industry development in biomass energy field so as to push
the research on biomass energy technologies between China and other
countries, promote the integration between Chinese biomass energy
industry and international enterprises and investment institutions.
In the meantime, this conference will provide a platform for experts,
scholars and industrialists in biomass energy. Also, it will provide
new development opportunities for international biomass energy institutions
and enterprises. |
