Energy Plants

In order to create new approaches to utilize the solar energy, concept on planting energy crops was proposed by Dr. Carwin, the US scientist who awarded the Nobel Prize in 1973. He called all of the plants that can produce hydrocarbon through catalysis as energy plants. The worldwide known energy plants have thousands of variety, which can be exploited and utilized as energy resources like petroleum. He trial planted the yellowwood (annual plant) in California of the US, of which juice was similar to diesel capable to exact into fine fuels.

Since the 1970s, extensive selection and research have been done on energy plants, with the purpose of looking for a plant variety with higher efficiency and convenient conversion. Therefore, people are still searching.

The utilization field on solar energy can be exploited broadly, except for the above-mentioned projects, others including solar vehicle, solar airplane, and solar heat pump.
