Priority Projects for Development
Of the New and Renewable Energy in China

Introduction

The priority projects have been comprehensive analyzed and selected on the basis of the Ninth Five Year Plan and the Plan for the Year 2010 established by the state and local government and as well as the Outline for Development of New and Renewable Energy in China. In the process of selection of the projects, two things must be considered. One is to strive to reflect the spirit of science and technology closely combining with production practice and serving the economic construction; The other is to better coordinate the relations between basic research and applied research and the relations between the needs in present and the needs in the future. Detail standards for selection and factors for consideration are as follows:

  • Technologies and systems which are technically advanced and ripe, of broad market and in demand, but not perfect in whole system and need industrial experiment and demonstration.

  • Technologies and fields which have certain technical basis and market prospects, but certain key technologies remain unsolved and need to be tackled. They will possibly become commercial products in the coming 5 to 10 years.

  • Technologies, which are not ripe at present, even at the stage of lab experiment, but have great market prospects. And other technologies relating to tracing the world advanced science and technology.
