Tidal Energy Project in Canada

One set of single-reservoir and single-direction ebb-tide power station with the installed capacity of 2MW was built in Andeboriece of Canada in 1984. The power station was constructed to demonstrate the practical performance of passing-through type turbine generator in order to provide technical criterion for the large-scale tidal station scheduled to built in Fendi Bay.

Andeboriece power station was equipped in individual machine capacity of 20MW, which are the largest sets in the world. Due to the whole passing-through technology, its cost will be 15% lower than that of bulb-type sets. The turbine was featured with inlet diameter of 7.6m, rated water head of 5.5m and rated efficiency of 89.1%. The operation in years shows that the set can achieve 97% in good condition.
